Hood River Photographer | Waterfront Park

There is a first time for everything. I've been in the area for just over two years now and I have never taken photos down at the Hood River Waterfront Park. Most of the time I give my clients ideas for places out of town. That is just where my mind goes. I like to go to overlooks or take a walk someplace, but rarely do I think of going to the local park. Not to mention, she gave me so many more ideas for places to shoot! I love that others explore their towns and places around them and that they are willing to let others in on their favorite locations or ideas. As a Hood River Photographer, you want to come up with places that are unique, meaningful and fun for your clients.

Going down to this park by the river gave us some gorgeous views looking across the river over into Washington. It was fun to be at a location that offered great views as well as a playground for both the little kids and big kids (of course I'm talking about the adults) to play around at the end of our session. Plus since it was a chilly morning, everyone was able to warm up a little by playing around.This was a new type of session for me. I'm used to immediate families and couples, but this one was an extended family session. We made several different arrangements and combinations. It made the session go by quickly, but it was so much fun. Especially when I pulled all the couples aside for some five minute mini couples sessions. You all know by now how much I love shooting couples, so this Hood River photographer was all happy and excited. It made for a great way to start out the week and what a wonderful way for this family to get some group pictures together. So often these are only taken at weddings, but it was fun to have the pressure taken off and them just having fun together.
